0Pennsylvania College Installs Plan B Emergency Contraceptive Vending Machine
In a unique and controversial move a Pennsylvania college has installed a vending machine where students can purchase Plan B emergency contraceptive.
The Plan B vending machine is located inside Shippenburg University’s health center where Plan B can be purchased for $25.
The university had thought about giving the pill away for free but was worried that state money or fee money being used would cause problems for the campus.
Speaking about the Plan B vending machine a university VP reveals of the student bodies reaction:
“We had some conversations with them and they did a survey of the student body, and we got an 85% response rate that the students supported Plan B in the House Center.”
The university doesn’t take any profit from the sales of Plan B and university officials say regardless of any controversy the machine will stay in place, allowing students to feel more comfortable with receiving the drug since they can do it when nobody is around if they choose.
