0Ultrasound Birth Control: The Future Of Infertility
Male birth control could arrive by way of ultra sound technology in the future if a new product being worked on by researchers comes to market.
In a study performed on rates sound waves slowed sperm production to levels that would cause infertility in human males.
According to early results the product is a “promising candidate” for male contraception.
The products researchers have found that two 15-minutes zaps delivered two days apart proved to be effective. The research was completed after the group received a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Further studies are already planned that will help determine how long the contraceptive lasts before new treatments are required and to make sure the process is reversible.
Believe it or not this form of contraceptive was first introduced in the 1970’s.
Would you be willing to submit your testicles to ultra sounds if it meant a viable male birth control option?
