Ice Cube’s ‘Good Day’ Determined by Science to Be January 20th, 1992
Let’s just sit back for a minute and appreciate the fact that we are all about one hundred years old.
Not literally, obviously. But how many of you fondly remember this song playing ad nauseum on MTV Raps? Don’t get up, we can hear your bones creak and it’s awkward. Twenty years later, the internet has gone and determined what day has to be the good day of Ice Cube’s seminal rap hit “It Was a Good Day.” Using some stringent mathematical criteria, the date has been determined to be January 20th, 1992:
The ONLY day where:
Yo MTV Raps was on air
It was a clear and smogless day
Beepers were commercially sold
Lakers beat the SuperSonics
and Ice Cube had no events to attend was…JANUARY 20 1992
So, is it accurate? Gawker has some doubts. But even if the dates don’t entirely match up, it’s safe to say Ice Cube’s good day was probably on or around that particular date. Which means that some of the babies born that day are now parents to toddlers. How old were you when “It Was a Good Day” was a current hit? Were you even born?
