The Arctic Ice Cap Headed To A Record Melt
Back in 2007 the Arctic melt set a record when the ice cap shrunk to 1.64 million square miles but if this year’s melt trend continues the way it is that record will be broken.
Even at this point scientists say that it is already reaching the lowest recorded level and there is still another two weeks of melt to go. According to the scientists the ice is so thin in the spring due to the general pattern of warming and because of this the pack ice can’t survive the summer melt season anymore.
“The numbers are coming in and we are looking at them with a sense of amazement,” said Mark Serreze, director of the National Snow and Ice Data Center at the university.
“If the melt were to just suddenly stop today, we would be at the third lowest in the satellite record. We’ve still got another two weeks of melt to go, so I think we’re very likely to set a new record,” he told AFP.

So I’m guessing that this whole climate change thingie is still considered to be a load of bull crap eh.
