Man Totally Breaches JFK Airport’s $100 Million Security System

Man Totally Breaches JFK Airport's $100 Million Security System

After the events of 9/11 security was a buzzword like never before and money being thrown around like a drunk at an all you drink stripper bar. One of those companies that got a major boatload of money was Raytheon for something called Perimeter Intrusion Detection System that cost $100 million.

So one would think that for that kind of money you’d actually get something that would .. well .. guard the perimeter of the place where it was installed, namely the JFK airport. However someone should have told 31-year-old Daniel Casillo recently after he breached the fence around JFK and showed up at Terminal 3 looking for some help.

You see, Casillo had been out at the Rosedale waterhole on his jet ski with friends when he got left behind after his machine developed some problems and left him stranded.

So he decided to swim for it, with the nearest land being Runway 4-Left at JFK airport.

As you’d expect, the airport is surrounded by 8-foot-tall security fencing, which Casillo managed to climb over before proceeding to run across two runways. When he arrived at Terminal 3 he finally found someone to ask for help–a Delta Airlines employee located outside Gate 10. Casillo was then arrested for trespassing.

I should also point out that Casillo was wearing a high visibility yellow life jacket and he scaled the fence of this $100 million perimeter security fence without any tools and without raising a single alarm.

Yup that was money well spent.
