6 Wildlife Overpasses That Save The Lives Of Both Drivers And Animals
As someone who has lived in the country and small towns for the majority of their life and hearing about cars getting hit by deer or numerous other small mammals being turned into roadkill I applaud highway designers who incorporate these types of wildlife over passes into their planning.
Most of the major wildlife overpasses range in size of 30ft to 180 ft wide and are meant to provide safe passage from one wildlife area to another for all sizes of animals with the larger ones meant for animals like bears, wolves, deer and moose.
The World Geography blog has a really nice collection of images of a wide variety of wildlife overpasses but these are the ones that I liked.
