American Idol Winner Phillip Phillips’ Family Business Broken Into

No sooner than does American Idol winner Phillip Phillips make it through his kidney stone surgery than we find out that his family’s pawn shop business was broken into.

Besides helping themselves to things like hand guns, flat-screen TVs, jewelry, and other valuable items the robbers also thought it would be good fun to vandalize the business. Total estimate of what was stolen is around the $4,000 mark.

The Albany Sporting Goods and Pawn is located on East Oglethorpe in Albany and was a major part of the “American Idol” brand built around Phillips, but it is now up for sale through Willcox Realty.

It is reported that the Phillips family was not present at the time of the robbery but instead were in California helping the singer recuperate from his surgery.
