Honda Fit EV Claims “Most Efficient” Vehicle Title

Honda Fit EV is the best mileage car

If you want to get the most bang for your mileage buck you might want to consider the 2013 Honda Fit EV, a vehicle that recently received the EPA’s highest ever mileage rating. The Honda Fit EV received a “fuel efficiency equivalency” of 118 MPGe.

By claiming the high rating Honda beats out previous record holder Mitsubishi who’s iMiEV has been charted at 112 MPGe and the Ford Focus Electric which receives 105 MPGe.

According to Wired the Honda Fit EV uses just 29 kWh of electricity for every 100 miles driven, the equivalent of $500 per year in electricity costs.

The vehicle is complimented by a powerful charger that takes only three hours to charge the vehicle after the “low battery” warning appears. According to the EPA with city and highway tests the Honda Fit EV averages 82-miles on a single charge, beating out the Nissan Leaf and iMiEV.

Some buyers in California and Oregon will be able to pick up the Honda Fit EV later this year while the East Coast will be able to take advantage of the hybrid by early 2012.

Now the bad news, the Honda Fit EV isn’t cheap at $36,625, or $399 a month on a three-year lease. That means the savings you receive from not having to purchase gasoline as often will likely be wasted via higher car payments.
