0Marvel Creates Deaf Comic Book Character To Inspire 4-Year-Old Boy
Marvel Comics recently received an email from the mother of a four-year-old boy who wanted to inquire about deaf characters the company may have created in the past. According to the mother her four-year-old is a comic book fan and mostly deaf with only partial hearing in his left year.
Unfortunately once little Anthony Smith realized superheroes didn’t wear hearing aids like he does he woke up and told his mom he didn’t want to wear his hearing device anymore.
After reading the email the team at Marvel Comics told the little boys mom about Hawkeye, a superhero who wears a hearing aid. Then the comic book creators at Marvel went above and beyond, creating a new hero based on Anthony who they call “Blue Ear.”
According to the four-year-olds mom ever since he received the drawing from Marvel he has kept his hearing aid in place.
I can’t get my cable provider to answer my phone calls but Marvel Comics is creating characters for confused and frustrated four-year-olds, I have to give big props to the Marvel team, good job guys.
