Jordan Ramos, “Plus-Size” College Student, Claims Bar Gave Skinny Friends Preferential Treatment

Bars are not the fairest places in the world, but one college student found out the hard way that the cliche about bouncers being assholes is often quite true.

21-year-old University of Iowa student Jordan Ramos has sparked off a spate of internet outrage after the bar she visited with a bunch of school friends- the Union Bar in Iowa City- treated her rather shabbily on a recent night out. And according to Ramos, the fact that she is a larger woman appears to have been the cause of the poor treatment.

The controversy began when Ramos and friends were dancing on a platform at the venue. A bouncer ordered the student down, a request with which Ramos complied. When more guests vacated the space, Ramos said she climbed back up and the same bouncer ordered her off again, this time explaining why she was being prevented from joining her friends on the floor:

‘He said, “You’re not pretty enough and you’re pregnant.” I said, “I can tell you with 100 percent certainty that I am not pregnant.”

‘He then looked at my stomach and said, “You obviously are.” They knew I was not pregnant; it was there way of calling me fat without having to actually say it.’

Whatadick. Anyway, there are unfortunately no rules codified into law allowing people not to discriminate against fat girls for being chubby- but there are also no laws against Jordan Ramos siccing the Big Girl Mafia on the jerks at the Union Bar in Iowa City.
