Nicki Minaj Back On Twitter, Denies Quitting Because Fan Shared Her Music

Rap star Nicki Minaj stunned fans when the avid tweeter deleted her Twitter account recently, minutes after having a Twitter fight with a fan Minaj said posted illegal copies of her work to the microblogging service.

At the time, Minaj had 11 million fans following her on Twitter, and her final tweet curtly read:

“Like seriously, its but so much a person can take. Good f*cking bye.”

Many assumed the deletion was due to Minaj’s spat with NickiDaily.com over the site’s posting of tracks from her forthcoming joint “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.” However, Minaj later told the Graham Norton that “voices in her head” prompted the abrupt Twitter exit, saying:

“A voice in my head told me to delete my Twitter and that’s what I did. I had 11 million followers and I hope they will wait for me… I reply all the time and get to know them by name and I have a really personal bond with them…not all 11 million, but at least 10 of them a day.”

Minaj restored her account yesterday, but has yet to tweet again. In a later UK interview, Minaj confirmed that she did not delete her account over the tracks, saying:

“Let’s set the record straight because a lot of times I don’t speak on things, but I don’t want people to think that’s why I deleted my Twitter. I just needed a moment to myself. Because some page posted things about me — I mean, I’ve read horrible things about myself. I wouldn’t delete my Twitter over that.”

Nicki Minaj is back up to 1.3 million followers, without sending a single new tweet thus far.
