0Potential Contestants Sue Bachelor Producers, Claim Black People Are Discriminated Against
Can racial discrimination on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette really stand up in court? Two hopeful contestants for the show hope so and they have sued the shows producers in a federal lawsuit filed in Nashville on Wednesday.
The men claim that the producers have engaged in a pattern of racial discrimination that has specifically made sure people of color would not hold a centralized role in any of either shows 23 seasons.
According to the lawsuit the Nashville men said at a casting call in August they were given very little consideration by producers when placed up against white men who were seeking the leading role on The Bachelor.
According to the mens attorney this is the first racial discrimination lawsuit filed against a reality show.
While the lawsuit doesn’t specify a specific amount for damages it does ask that the selection process for the reality TV be changed.
