0Maryland Lottery Winner Finally Steps Forward, Almost Definite It Isn’t Mirlande Wilson
The lucky soul who is the Maryland Mega Millions winner has finally stepped forward to claim their share of the massive $656 million prize, but lottery officials say the individual who won a big share of the historic prize won’t be going public after their big win.
That strikes a large contrast to the story of likely lottery faker Mirlande Wilson, who created a press firestorm after the record-setting Mega Millions draw. At first, Wilson claimed to have won, but on a “private” ticket separate from that of her McDonald’s office pool, angering her co-workers. Then Wilson called a press conference to say that she didn’t want any media attention, and maintained that she had a winning ticket, hidden somewhere within the McDonald’s where she worked.
Finally, Wilson told reporters that she “misplaced” the ticket– but it seems the real winner has finally presented him or herself, and in a far less obtrusive way. Lottery spokeswoman Carole Everett confirmed that the Maryland Mega Millions winner has stepped forward at lottery headquarters, and that while the individual does not wish to be identified as of yet, Maryland lottery officials will share a “storyline” about the winner at tomorrow’s press gathering.
