1Whitney Houston’s Beverly Hilton Room NOT Rented Out, Hotel Confirms
Earlier today, it was widely reported that morbid curiosity seekers had already rented out the swanky hotel room in which pop star Whitney Houston passed away Saturday night.
People are so callous, everyone said, and companies are so quick to try and make a buck off some family’s tragedy. Except… that didn’t happen. No guests have been booked into Houston’s ill-fated and now infamous room, and certainly not any parties as had earlier been reported. It is entirely possible, too, that the room is being kept vacant for ongoing investigation, and there may be some sort of protocol involved when a high-profile incident occurs in a notable hotel such as the Beverly Hilton.
E! confirmed that Houston’s room was currently guest free, taking a tiny swipe at TMZ in the process:
“It was not rented, it is not rented and it will not be rented in the foreseeable future,” a spokesperson for the Beverly Hilton told E! News of the already infamous room 434.
The spokesperson went on to say that TMZ, which ran the initial report and even claimed that there was currently a party staying in the room, never contacted the hotel to confirm the accuracy of their claim.
Would you feel uncomfortable staying in room 434 now? Do you think that there will be interest in booking Whitney Houston’s last hotel room?
