Julian Assange To Guest Star On Simpsons
Wikileaks founder and consummate government headache maker Julian Assange will hang out with Bart and Homer Simpson on February 19 when he appears on the 500th episode of the Simpsons.
The giver of secrets recorded his part for the show last summer while under house arrest in Britain.
Simpsons executive producer Al Jean tells Entertainment Weekly:
In the episode, the Simpsons leave Springfield for a rugged area where Assange is the new Ned Flanders—in so far as “he lives next door,” Jean says. “The similarities end there. He invites them over for a home movie, and it’s an Afghan wedding being bombed.”
In the meantime Assange is set to host a talk show in March and on Tuesday he will meet with Britain’s Supreme Court to discuss extradition to the United States.
