0The Toyota Tundra Space Shuttle Pull – Take That Dodge Ram [Video]
We’re all pretty familiar with the advertising for the Dodge Ram brand of pick-ups that are America’s hauling vehicle, or at least as their television ads would have us to believe anyway.
Well I’m thinking that they may need to step up their game after the recent monster pull that Toyota pulled off with a stock Tundra pickup truck, after all who else can say that they managed to pull the 145 ton space shuttle Endeavour across interstate 405 in Los Angeles.
The reason for this potential advertising goldmine is that the Manchester Boulevard Bridge, which the shuttle had to cross on its way to the California Science Center, couldn’t hold the weight of both the shuttle and the traditional tow vehicle which meant the organizers had to find a lighter alternative.
Which is where Toyota, a 20 year sponsor of the science center, came in with their offer of a stock 2012 Toyota Tundra CrewMax 4×4; and as you can see in the video it achieved it goal.
I wonder if we’ll see that as the truck’s new tow rating?
