0No Metal Paper Fasteners For You Clumsy People Says NHS
I’ve read this story twice and I’m still shaking my head over just how stupid this makes our world look but it seems that some staff member at National Health Services (NHS) Manchester ended up hurting themselves because of a metal paper fastener, and now no-one in NHS is allowed to use them because they have been deemed a health hazard.
The only thing that is a health hazard here is silly decisions like this that cause my brain to be fried just a little bit more and I’m not alone in this feeling as more than a few NHS workers have expressed disbelief of this new office regulation that they got as the following memo:
“Please ensure that any that remain in use should now be replaced by similar plastic fasteners. The use of these metal fasteners is prohibited and must be carefully disposed of immediately. Thank you for your co-operation.” A picture of a fastener was attached to the memo.
Be careful now with that head shaking or you might break something and then there’ll be no-more head shaking allowed.
From one of the affected employees:
“It is ridiculous. They’re vaguely sharp, like drawing pins and fountain pens.
“I can only assume that the top brass think that they’ve employed idiots who need nannying through the working day.”
Sad, just sad.
