Man Takes Niagara Falls Dive Without Safety Devices, Survives

Niagara Falls Has A Survivor After 180 Foot Fall

An unidentified man in his 40s took a 180 foot plunge over Niagara Falls on Monday morning and survived his plunge despite going over the falls without the assistance of safety gear.

The man was seen deliberately climbing over a safety rail at 10:20 a.m. on Monday at which point he dove into a spot just a short distance from Horseshoe Falls.

After plunging over the falls the man emerged a short time later near an observation platform located on the Niagara River.

The man was picked up two hours later and rushed to a nearby hospital where he was treated for life-threatening injuries.

The last person to go over Niagara Falls and survive was a 30-year-old man in March 2009, before that Kirk Jones of Michigan went over the falls and survived.
