0Islamist Website Offers $100,000 For Rappers Murder
Shahin Najafi, an Iranian rapper living in Germany recently had a jihad taken out on his head by an Islamist website. According to the website Islamist supporters will pay $100,000 for the rappers murder after one of his songs “grossly insulted” an important Shi’ite Muslim figure.
According to the website the rap was about Ali al-Hadi al-Naqi, one of the 12 imams.
The website also accuses the rapper of satirizing the Islamic republic which is forbidden. The rap apparently includes references to the 2009 presidential election, economic sanctions and Iranians’ fondness for nose jobs and other Western customs.
According to Najafi the website is incorrect in labeling his rap the way it has been portrayed and he points to the fact that the song is actually fashioned as a prayer that has become popular among the Iranian people.
If the song is ultimately deemed blasphemous Najafi could face the death penalty should he ever return to Iran.
