Radioactive Man Gets Pulled Over By The Police

No this isn’t the plot for some new SyFy science fiction movie. It is however an interesting experience that happened to a gentleman by the name of Mike Apatow when he was driving to an appointment for his work.

As Apatow was entering Interstate 48 in Newtown, Washington, a police cruiser suddenly appeared in his read view mirror with its lights on indicating that Apatow should pull over. Now Apatow had no idea why this was happening since he didn’t think that he had done anything to attract the attention of the police, which turned out to be the case.

The problem was that due to a nuclear stress test that he had at the Cardiology Associates of Fairfield County there was a small amount of radioactive material still in his system, and it was this that had attracted the attention of the police.

It seems that even that small amount is enough to set off a radioactivity detectors that was a part of the police car’s equipment. These detectors are there to help the police identify potential terror threats and State Police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance has confirmed that many of their cars have these detectors; which are part of the state’s homeland security operations.

Lucky for Apatow that his doctor gave him a note that he’d had a medical procedure that involved radioactive material.
