0Barrel Organ Constructed From 20,000 Lego’s Plays Star Wars Theme [Video]
If you want to get people’s attention here’s a great way to do it, take 20,000 Star Wars lego’s pieces and use them to create a playable barrel organ that is themed after the Star Wars movies. That’s exactly what a German company did and the results are complete awesomeness.
The giant barrel organ is not only playable, it features various scene depictions from some of the saga’s greatest locations including the Death Star, Tatooine, Hoth and an Endor Forest.
Created by Serviceplan the hand-cranked organ was built with the help of Lego superstar Rene Hoffmeister who says of the project:
“When I was asked to do the project, at first I was not sure if this really was going to happen.”
On tour in Germany since January the Lego-based barrel organ is being used to promote the eventual 3-D release of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.
Eventually the Star Wars lego creation will reach its final reseting place at Legoland Germany.
Here’s another peek at the Star Wars based Lego creation:
Here’s a short trailer that showcases the organ’s complex and awesome design:
