Katy Perry Says She Is Tired of Being Famous

Being an internationally famous pop star who gets much boys is not all it’s cracked up to be, according to internationally famous pop star who gets much boys, Katy Perry.

Perry (who grabbed international headlines when she split up with fellow famous person Russell Brand after a giant wedding with elephants and one or two years of marriage) describes being disillusioned with the fame cycle in general as well as the divide it places between the star and her fans. Speaking to Teen Vogue, she explains:

“I’m tired of being famous already! But I’m not tired of creating. Fame is, I think, just a disgusting by-product of what I do. It’s quite a delicate creature—it’s a wild animal of sorts. It can love you, and then it can attack you.”

Perry continues, saying that she feels being famous makes it hard for fans to really relate to her as a person:

“I still want to be as approachable and relatable as possible—when I meet fans and they’re crying, I’ll say, “Calm down, there’s nothing to cry about. I’m not going to bite you or attack you or grant you three wishes. Let’s just hang out and have a good time.” But really, I stopped focusing on what other people think a while ago. If you try to be everything to everyone, you’ll only end up completely confused.”

However, Perry says she wants to try her hand at the undoubtedly fame-enhancing arena of acting, even though “the stakes are really high.”
