Mega Millions Winning Numbers: Ticket Sold in Maryland, Perhaps Other States
Mega Millions fever gripped many parts of the US tonight as the jackpot shot up to a precedent-setting $640 million, and at least one winning ticket has been sold, it has been confirmed.
The lucky winner purchased the ticket in the state of Maryland, lottery officials have revealed, at a 7-11 store in Baltimore County on Liberty Road. If $640 million sounds like a lot, officials say that the jackpot for this Mega Millions game was the largest ever in world history. Although the numbers are in- 02, 04, 23, 38, 46 and a megaball multiplier of 23- it is yet to be revealed how many winners came up lucky on this particular drawing.
Late Friday after the Mega Millions winning numbers were revealed, Maryland state lottery officials commented on being the state with the luckiest person in America right now. In a statement, Maryland Lottery Director Stephen Martino said:
“This is truly remarkable and historic. We can’t wait to greet the winner of this world-record setting jackpot.”
Maryland lottery spokeswoman Erica Palmisano said that “there are definitely a few winners from other states as well” for the massive Mega Millions jackpot.
